Product Process

Shallow sand filter is a medium filtration system which is composed of one or more standard high rate filtration units. Water flows through internal water distributor and water collector and different medium can remove particulate matter and reduce turbidity rate. If specific filter medium are used like activated carbon and anthracite, they can adsorb and remove relevant organic matter and ions.

When the system is in a filtering state, the pressure water flows into the water distribution system from the inlet of filtration units, arriving evenly filter material layers. After arriving, the suspended material of water is intercepted by the filter material. The bottom of the filter has a water collector with precision gaps. Filtered clean water is evenly collected, and flows out of the filter.  With the accumulation of impurities in the filter material layer, the pressure loss increases. When the differential pressure increases to a set value or stated cleaning time, the system will automatically turn into the backwash state. The pressurized water flows from the water collecting device into the filter material layer, and wash it. So the intercepted pollutants fall off and go out of the filtration system. Backwash continues about at least two minutes, and the valve automatically makes the system turn into the filtering state.
